Poker icon and World Poker Tour star Gus Hansen has confirmed his participation in the Premier Meet-Up Game (MUG) at the WPT® World Championship Festival at Wynn Las Vegas Gas.
“The World Poker Tour has always been one of my favorites. The WPT has had a huge impact on my poker career over the years,” said three-time WPT Champion Gus Hansen. “I’m excited to be joining Premier MUG and returning to the WPT’s big stage.”
Premier MUG, hosted by WPT Ambassadors Andrew Neeme and Brad Owen, will begin on Friday, December 1st at 9:00am. Hansen will play at the Wynn Poker Room for $1-$3 and $2-$5 alongside WPT legend Phil Ivey. Play limit hold’em.
Nicknamed “The Great Dane” by the WPT. According to commentator Mike Sexton, Hansen is the first player to win three WPT Open titles since finishing in the top five at the 2002 Diamond World Poker Classic, the 2003 WPT Los Angeles Poker Classic and the 2004 Caribbean Poker Adventure. Hansen also won the inaugural WPT Bad Boy Poker Invitational. His best live winnings to date was a second place finish at the 2008 WPT World Championship for $1,714,800. In total, he earned over $4 million during his WPT career.
